Get set up: your first label in 4 steps

Dill has already set up your account, your stores and your label designs. All you do is add what you sell. Do this on a computer.

Before you start

  • Your admin login for dillprint.web.app. Dill sends this to you.
  • The ingredient list for one product, from the supplier's pack or spec sheet.
1

Add an ingredient

Click Home at the top left, then Recipe Builder.

  1. Click New Ingredient

It's in the bar at the top. A form opens.

  2. Type the name and paste what's in it

Put the name your staff know it by in Name. Copy the ingredients list from the supplier's pack into Ingredients and allergens. If you buy it from more than one place, add the Supplier too.

  3. Click Flag Allergens, then wait 5 seconds

Dill finds the allergens for you. Nothing moves while it works, so give it a moment.

Wait for itThere's no spinner. It can take up to 5 seconds before anything changes.
  4. Check the allergens are marked, then Save

Each allergen now has <* and *> around it, like <*Egg*>. Those print in bold. If one was missed, type the marks yourself. Then click Save.

No allergens? For something like lettuce, just type the name in both boxes and click Save.

Create the item

Click Home, then Add PPDS Label. An item is something you sell, made from your ingredients.

  1. Name it and pick a category

Type the name as it should print in Item Name. Choose a Category so staff can find it.

  2. Add the ingredients

Type part of a name in Search Ingredient and click it. Do this for each one. They print in this order, and you can drag them to change it.

Easier to readSet Ingredient Format Style to Comma separated so the ingredients don't run together.
  3. Say how long it lasts

Leave Days picked, or choose Hours, and type a whole number. Dill works out the use-by date when it prints.

  4. Type the price in pence

450 means £4.50. No pound sign, no dot.

Price shows an error? You typed a dot. Use pence only: 450, not 4.50.
  5. Check the label

Click Preview Label, pick a Label design and read it through. Allergens should be bold. Click Close when you're done. Previewing doesn't save anything.

  6. Save

Click Save to all … sites to save it and send it to every store in one go. Or click Save to choose stores later. The form clears when it's saved.

3

Send it to your stores

Skip this if you clicked Save to all … sites. Otherwise click Home, then My Items.

  1. Tick the item

Find it on the PPDS tab and tick the box on its row.

  2. Click Distribute to Locations

It's at the top of the page. A list of your stores opens.

  3. Tick the stores and click Distribute

Tick each store that sells it, or the box at the top for all of them. Distribute stays grey until you tick a store.

4

Print it in the store

On the store's phone or tablet, in the Dill app.

  1. Tap the item, then Print

The item now shows in the app at every store you sent it to. Tap it, check the preview, and tap Print.

That's itYou're set up. Do the same for the rest of your products, and send your store team the In the store guide.
