Dill's Founder Named Finalist in the 2025 Great British Entrepreneur Awards

Alex Coldea, founder of Dill, has been named a finalist in the AI Entrepreneur of the Year category at the 2025 Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

Dill is working to make food labelling and compliance much simpler using AI — generating and deploying labels in real time to replace manual, error-prone workflows, in a way that scales for food businesses of any size.

Being shortlisted is a signal that the work matters.

Alex Coldea, founder of Dill, said:

"We're heads-down building, so being named a finalist is a good moment to reflect. It's recognition that the problem we're solving — making food labelling and compliance radically easier — matters. We're using AI to generate and deploy new labels in real-time, replacing manual workflows with something faster, more reliable, and scalable. The team's been moving fast, and we're just getting started."

About the awards

The Great British Entrepreneur Awards, supported by Allica Bank, celebrate UK entrepreneurial stories. Past winners include BrewDog, Grenade, ClearScore, Zilch and Unbiased — many recognised well before their breakout success.

This year's finalists:

  • Employ over 25,000 people across the UK.
  • Expect to create more than 9,000 new jobs in the next year.
  • Generate a combined turnover of £2.25 billion.
  • Have an average business age of six years.

Frankie James, founder of the GBEA, commented:

"We're so proud to reveal this year's shortlist, a truly remarkable group of founders who are changing lives and transforming industries... the entrepreneurial spirit in the UK is more alive than ever."

Conrad Ford, Chief Product & Strategy Officer at Allica, added:

"These finalists are a vital force in the British economy, driving innovation and making a real difference in their communities. We're proud to support this celebration of UK entrepreneurial talent."

What's next

Winners will be announced at a ceremony on Monday 17 November 2025 at London's Grosvenor House, where over 1,500 entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders will gather.
