Dill is at VARTECH 2025 in the Bahamas, demoing its food labelling system on the Brother USA booth — and launching the AI Labelling Studio.

This September, the channel community gathers in the Bahamas for VARTECH 2025 — one of the main events for resellers, distributors, integrators and solution providers in the AIDC and POS industry. Hosted by BlueStar, it's part trade show, part meeting point for the partnerships and product launches that decide how technology actually reaches customers in foodservice, retail, healthcare and logistics.

There are 200+ exhibitors, including Brother Mobile Solutions, Intel, Epson, Honeywell, BarTender (Seagull Scientific), Zebra, LG, Elo and Samsung. Dill is there too, showing the food labelling system we build for restaurants, convenience stores, supermarkets, bakeries and QSR chains.

You'll find us on the Brother USA booth, where you can see how our mix of hardware, software and consumables handles one of the industry's most persistent headaches: food labelling.

Why food labelling still needs fixing

From FDA-compliant Grab & Go labels in the US, to stock rotation and traceability reporting in supermarkets, to allergen and shelf-edge labels in bakeries and restaurants — designing, printing and applying labels is still harder than it should be.

Operators deal with a few overlapping problems at once:

  • Compliance. Foodservice businesses have to meet FDA, PPDS (Prepacked for Direct Sale) and other regional rules.
  • Accuracy. Every label needs the right barcodes, ingredients, allergens, best-before dates and production data — with no mistakes.
  • Operations. Staff often spend hours updating templates, printing short runs, or handwriting stock rotation dates.
  • Consistency. Multi-site operators, from supermarkets to QSRs, struggle to keep labels looking the same across every location.

That's not just inefficient — it's risky. Mislabelled food can cause costly recalls, lose customer trust, and in the worst cases put people in danger. Labelling is one of the least glamorous but most critical parts of running a food or retail business.

Our approach: one complete labelling system

We started Dill with one goal: make labelling something operators barely have to think about. The system combines software, Brother hardware and labels in one setup that's quick to deploy, easy to scale, and built around compliance.

At VARTECH, we'll demo it live, including:

  • FDA Grab & Go labelling for convenience stores, cafés and supermarkets in the US.
  • Stock rotation and date-code automation for QSR chains, bakeries and food-to-go operators.
  • Traceability reporting across venues and distribution networks, to make recalls and supplier audits easier.
  • Retail shelf-edge labelling that integrates with back-office systems.

It runs on any device, from tablets to mobile printers, and connects however you need — with your POS, your ERP, or as a standalone kiosk.

AI Labelling Studio

The biggest thing we're bringing to VARTECH 2025 is the AI Labelling Studio.

Label design has always needed specialist knowledge, a lot of setup, and constant tweaks to stay compliant with rules like FDA allergen requirements. If you don't have a design background, building templates that are both compliant and on-brand is genuinely hard.

The AI Labelling Studio takes that on. Think of it as a label designer and an operations manager in one:

  • You type in what you need — ingredients, barcode type, allergens, expiry-date rules — and it generates a compliant, ready-to-print template in seconds.
  • It checks FDA, PPDS and traceability requirements automatically.
  • It works with Brother hardware, so rolling it out across locations is quick.

In practice:

  • A QSR chain can launch a new Grab & Go item without waiting weeks on design.
  • A bakery adding seasonal SKUs can update every stock rotation and allergen label in minutes.
  • A supermarket group can push consistent shelf-edge labels to hundreds of stores at once.

It mainly removes onboarding pain. Work that used to take hours of training and setup now takes minutes — early pilots have cut onboarding time for new users by up to 90%.

Why VARTECH matters for us

VARTECH is a good fit for what we're building. The room is full of:

  • Value-added resellers looking for new solutions to sell.
  • Distributors after products that fit their existing range.
  • Integrators working on POS, ERP and mobility.
  • Enterprise end-users in retail, hospitality and logistics thinking about what's next.

With Brother Mobile Solutions, we can show how a full labelling setup — software, printers and consumables — deploys as one integrated system. For VARs, that's a chance to turn labelling from a customer pain point into a service they can sell.

Beyond foodservice

Dill started in food labelling, but the system is built to scale into other areas:

  • Healthcare: labelling is central to traceability for medications, blood samples and patient care.
  • Logistics: barcodes and traceability labels keep distribution and returns moving.
  • Manufacturing: accurate labelling supports safety, compliance and efficiency.

The same things matter everywhere — accuracy, compliance and ease of use. VARTECH is a place to start those conversations with partners in nearby markets.

What's changed since our last nomination

Heading into VARTECH, here's where we are since our recent awards and nominations:

  • 40M+ labels printed across foodservice and retail.
  • 80% time savings in labelling operations.
  • 25% waste reduction for QSR operators.
  • Launched FDA Grab & Go labelling (US) and ERP traceability for the UK baking industry.
  • Added support for the Brother TD-2 series printers.
  • Onboarded 20+ new businesses across Wales, England and Scotland.
  • Named Wales StartUp of the Year and AI StartUp of the Year.

If you're at VARTECH

If you're at VARTECH 2025 at the Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, come to the Brother USA booth and see Dill in action. You'll get:

  • Live demos of FDA, stock rotation and shelf-edge labelling workflows.
  • The first public look at the AI Labelling Studio.
  • A conversation about how VARs, distributors and integrators can add Dill to their own portfolios.

Labelling may never be glamorous, but we think it can be fast, compliant, efficient and basically invisible — so operators can get back to running their business.

What's next

VARTECH is one stop on the way. After the Bahamas, you'll find Dill at:

  • RTIE (Restaurant & Takeaway Innovation Expo) in London.
  • NRF in New York — the world's largest retail expo.

From bakeries and restaurants to supermarkets and convenience stores, we're focused on one of operators' biggest frustrations: labelling. With the AI Labelling Studio, we're not just fixing it for foodservice — we're building a platform for traceability, compliance and labelling across industries.

If you'll be at VARTECH 2025, come find us at the Brother booth. Let's talk about making labelling simpler.
